Complete set of wayang lithographs with descriptions “Darah Bharata: Verzameling van hoofdpersonen uit de Wajang Poerwa.” Published in 1919 by the Commissie voor de Volkslectuur, this book features lithographs by J. W. Teillers based on drawings by Javanese master drawer R. Soelardi from Solo.

The set features 37 wayangs from the Javanese version of Mahabharata, the Hindu epic. Printed in full-colour, the lithographs show the classic wayang designs of central Java with detailed clothing and long slender limbs. The descriptions were intended for Dutch readers and helped explain everything from the plot of the Mahabharata to the meanings of postures and dress of each wayang.
